The Enginer system uses a 3KW DC:DC boost converter that allows a lower voltage and therefore less expensive auxiliary battery pack to charge the vehicle's standard traction battery while you drive. Pure EV mode up to 34mph is possible for short drives. This kit gets a fuel economy of 100mpg city/70mpg highways within 15 miles of driving range. Price includes installation and a 5 year warranty.
The 4kWh system from Enginer comes with all the features described for the 2kWh system above with twice the battery capacity, doubling your electrical assisted driving range to 30 miles. Price includes installation and a 5 year warranty.
3Prong Power is pleased to offer the most powerful Plug-In Hybrid battery on the market.The premium 10kWh system comes with our override electric vehicle mode (also known as ICE Kill or Forced Stealth) for pure electric driving up to 52mph. Price includes a rear suspension upgrade. The 10kWh systems gives you over 40 miles of all electric driving or up to 75 miles of mixed use driving at up to 100 mpg city / 75 mpg highway.
The PHEV conversion allows for four modes of operation:
1. Overide Electric Vehicle Mode: Also known as ICE Kill or Forced Stealth. The car uses 100% battery power at speeds up to 52 mph. The Prius gas engine is not available in this mode; you are effectively driving an electric car in this mode. This mode is only available for the Plug-In Supply product line.
2. Automatic Electric Vehicle Mode: The car uses a mixture of battery pack power and the Prius engine depending on driving conditions for enhanced mileage. Our controller will automatically try to maximize electric energy usage over gasoline usage. All electric driving up to 34 mph is possible in this mode. This mode is only available for the Plug-In Supply product line.
3. Manual Electric Vehicle Mode: The car uses a mixture of battery pack power and the Prius engine depending on driving conditions for enhanced mileage. For the Enginer product line the driver must use a switch to signal to the car to try to use only electric driving if conditions allow. This all electric driving is only possible up to 34 mph. The Enginer product line only uses this mode.
4. Normal Prius Mode: The extra battery pack is not used and the car operates exactly like any normal Prius. This mode is available on all product lines.

* A PHEV in mixed mode will use a mix of some gasoline and some battery power to deliver signifcantly higher miles per gallon until the battery is depleted. From that point on, the vehicle will revert to the same miles per gallon as a standard hybrid.
